Bat Trang Village is 10 km from Hanoi center, situated on
the bank of the Red River. The history of the village is dated back to almost 1000
years. Villagers decided to settle here for they found very fine resource of
white clay that is material for ceramic products.
The clay has been moved through filtering steps then is chosen
for making products. With the selected clay, the potter’s wheel is used to
mould the items. The temperature for baking and the glaze influence the color
as well as product quality. They make wide range of products such as vases,
bowls, paintings, plates, and other souvenirs…
You come and can learn how to form the ceramics. It takes
only 20 minutes from Hanoi center to Bat Trang. Nowadays the ceramics products
are not only supplied domestically but exported worldwide. Beside the visit to the
village we can try delicious local food for lunch. Tour to Bat Trang village can be done by cycling along the Red River from Hanoi.
